Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Deen Over Dunya app and website. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Deen Over Dunya (“the service”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for them.
2. The service
Deen Over Dunya is an Islamic companion for iPhone and iPad. Current features include Quran reading and audio, tafsir and reflections, prayer times and Qibla, prayer tracking, a prayer-aware planner, Apple Calendar import, routines and habits, Rawabit, dua and dhikr, widgets, and personal attention protection.
Version 1.1 is currently free and contains no advertising or subscription purchase flow. Features, pricing, platform support, and availability may change in a future release; any material paid terms would be shown before purchase.
3. Accounts and devices
Sign-in is required for the current release. You are responsible for maintaining control of your account, device, and sign-in methods and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person, create accounts through unauthorized automation, or use another person’s account without permission.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the service for personal, lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the service to violate applicable law or another person’s rights.
- Interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the service, its accounts, or connected systems.
- Bypass security, access controls, usage limits, or protection mechanisms.
- Copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create unauthorized derivative works from the app, except where applicable law expressly permits.
- Use automated means to scrape, extract, or republish substantial parts of the service without written permission.
- Upload malicious code or use the service to harm another person or device.
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address a material violation of these terms.
5. Quran and religious information
We work to present Quran text, translations, audio, prayer calculations, Rawabit learning notes, and other Islamic content carefully. Digital data, calculation settings, translations, and software can still contain errors or differ from local scholarly practice.
Deen Over Dunya does not replace a qualified scholar, imam, or local religious authority. Verify prayer times and Qibla when accuracy is critical, and consult qualified sources for religious rulings or personal guidance.
Source acknowledgements
English Quran translation includes Sahih International and remains subject to the rights of its original publisher. Recitation and timing data may include material associated with the Quranic Universal Library (QUL), EveryAyah.com, QuranicAudio.com, and the named reciters or their publishers. Such material is provided for educational and devotional use subject to applicable source rights.
6. Personal attention protection
Personal Protection uses Apple Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks to shield selected apps on your own authorized device. The current release does not provide family monitoring, child-device management, or remote supervision.
You control whether protection is enabled and what you select. System settings, permissions, operating-system behaviour, or device changes may affect how restrictions operate. You can change or remove authorization through the app or relevant iOS settings.
7. Your content and feedback
You retain your rights in journal entries, routines, goals, and other original content you create. You give us the limited permission needed to store, process, synchronize, and display that content solely to operate and improve the service.
If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
8. Intellectual property
The Deen Over Dunya name, design, software, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service according to these terms; they do not transfer ownership.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the service, address security or legal requirements, or reflect platform changes. We aim for reliable operation but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Apple services, internet access, location services, and other third-party systems may affect functionality.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deen Over Dunya and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or losses arising from reliance on prayer calculations, religious information, protection settings, or service interruption. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law.
